TRIBUTE TO JULIEN J. MEYER

            SIGNS OF CHRISTMAS
         
         
         Whene'er I see a candle
           beaming forth its light
         I think about the Christ Child
           and of His Halo bright.
         I think about the light He shed
           on earth by coming here
         To bring salvation to mankind
           yes, all men far and near.
         
         And when I see the Holly Wreath
           that~decorates the stair
         I think about the crown of thorns
           He later had to wear.
         And then I turn and there I see
           a Christmas tree so gay,
         Its greeness makes me think about
           the manger and the hay.
         
         And there beneath the Christmas tree
           Our family pet dog sleeps,
         That makes me think of animals
           the donkey and the sheep.
         As I look upon our table
           All spread out for a feast
         I think about the offerings
           of the Wisemen from the East.
         
         There's a Christmas Card and candy canes
           I got from uncle Lem.
         They make me think of the Shepherds' staffs
           On the fields near Bethlehem.
         Yes, all these signs remind me
           of our precious Savior's birth.
         I'm Oh so glad our God above
           Did send Him to this earth!
